Breath

I walk in the morning all kissed by the sun,
and as I go, I start humming
the song the birds sung.
Then sometimes while humming
with heart all astir,
I start thinking
of humming,
and my mind,
starts to running
on the process
of humming
and forgets
all the birds
and the sound
of the notes
that inspired it,
and the dear
things they're saying
get drowned in my words;
'cause it's only by breathing in first
that anything approaching real life can be shared.
